Need an Explanation on how Studios and Multi-Materials interact

Does each studio have to have a selection for all multi materials?

this is just a broad example, but if I have a cup that comes in clear and white, and a lid that comes in 5 colors. does that mean that I need to have 10 different studios for each possible combination? I cant just have the five lids and use what ever the shell is set at?

You can handle this simply with the configurator. So why build Studios?

I think that is what you would set up when adding items to the render queue.

So you mean I would just have a list of studios like
Clear Cup - Red Lid
Clear Cup - Blue Lid
Clear Cup - Green Lid
Clear Cup - Yellow Lid

I guess that is possible, but We usually have to show 3 sides of each product meaning I would actually have
Clear Cup - Red Lid - Right
Clear Cup - Red Lid - Center
Clear Cup - Red Lid - Left
etc etc.

at 2 cup colors with 5 lid colors that gives me 30 different studios. Am I just trying to reach a level of simplification that not possible for my team?

I thought Configurator was more used for live presentations then renders? was I mistaken?

I have not dived into the complexities of the configurator, its complicated and I think I did it once to render a vast number of options for some products, but I know the very last option you can picj when going through the setup is to “render stills” so yes, its super handy for presentation mode, but it can render out all the possibilities of all your multimaterials and camera views.

But don’t ask me how.
